Midnight's Children - Salman Rushdie

fantastic book... a must read... a few excerpts...

* We all owe death a life. (Isn't this true? To give death its full onus we should live a life worth living.)

* Do Hindus not accept that the world is a kindof dream; that Brahma dreamed, is dreaming the universe; that we only see dimly through that dream-web, which is Maya. Maya maybe defined as all that is illusory; as trickery, artifice and deceit. Apparitions, phantasms, mirages, sleight-of-hand, the seeming form of things: all these are parts of Maya.

* The promise of exotic futures has always seemed the perfect antidote to the disappointments of the present.

I've read Midnight's Children, and am currently reading 'Enchantress of Florence'. I'm literally stunned by its beauty. Do try it if you can..

Btw, new here, and now following.. :)
