hey all.... thanx for all the support that u have given me all through these months.... it feels so nice to know u have people who care for u... people who want to know wat u r up to... life has been up n down all this time... sometimes happy sometimes sad...

be it z00nie n his bizarreness or k00kie and that train accident... be it strawy with her question 'why' or pari with her 'miss my bro'... d00die with her 'cancer' post or pearlie with her 'death shatters'... n00nie with his 'pearly missing' or fay with her 'linking park'... icey with her 'doctor dreams' or am00nie with her 'malaysia trips'...

be it v00nie with his 'no names please' or cheesy with her 'london bombings'... be it misty with her 'truth and fib' or kr00pie with her camping pics.... peter with his colourful blog or wordy with his awesome poems... gr00nie with his cricket fever or g00nie with his google fever... wand00nie with his slap his teacher or vinu with his gift for sister... t00nie with her 'tears n goodbye' and sebia with her 'im bak wheres my sword?'

i m gonna miss u all.... (bonk me if i forgot nyone... tdm i left on purpose... darn he never visits my blog...grrrrr)

yeah m going on a 8 days long leave.... from the 1st of september to the 8th of september....

n naah its not that i m taking a break from all this or something.... more so for religious reasons....

we have an 8 day long religious festival called 'paryushan'... we fast and pray n generally i wont get the time to chat or nything.... so here is an opportunity to tell u guys about my religion...

i m a 'jain'... i dont think many of you would b knowing much about my religion.... so let me give u an idea about it...

* we r pure vegetarians to the extent that we r 'not supposed' to even eat underground plants...

* we believe in total non violence 'ahimsa'

* we believe that the moment u give up 'moh' n 'maya' u can achieve 'nirvana'

* our God is called 'Lord Mahavira'

* we believe that 'karma' is the main cause of watever u get in your life... good karma will get u good things in life and vice versa.... but the most important part here of our philosophy is the way u use these good things that u attain in life.... for example because of your 'good karma' u have attained a lot of wealth... now its upto u how ur going to spend this wealth... u can use it for good purposes like charity or make bad use of it like drinking and gambling... this in turn will decide on ur next karmic achievements... (my fave philosophy which i truly believe is right)

* when we pray we believe that we should pray for our soul rather than ask for materialistic things in life....

* our fasting is rather tough... no food at all for 8 days straight in a row... only boiled water that too during the day time... (people fast like this for 30 days in a row too!!!)

* we r not forced to fast... it depends on the will of a person if he/she wants to fast or not

* we have two sutras which we have to learn... one is called 'samaik' and the other is called 'pratikaman'

* 'samaik' is a general 48 min praying session where u can pray and read anything from our scriptures

* 'pratikaman' is a prayer that we have to do twice a day... n its asking for forgiveness for all the sins that you have committed all through the day... takes around an hour....

* when our 'paryushan' is over we have a major forgiveness asking ceremony where we ask for forgiveness from all the living beings... forgiveness if we have hurt them or if we have committed any sins...

i'd like to recite one part of our 'samaik' stotra here (with meaning) for u to understand the depth of our feelings for non violence for all living creatures... be it plants, animals or human beings...

abhihaya - if we have come across them and by mistake killed them
vattiya - we have covered them with mud
leshiya - killed them by stepping on them
sanghahiya - clashed them
sanghatiya - touched them causing pain
pariyaviya - caused pain or wounds on them
kilamiya - stupefied them
udaviya - scared them
thana o thanan sankamiya - picked them up n kept them at some other place
jiviyao vavaroviya - killed them totally (knowingly or unknowingly)
tassa michami dukkadam - then i ask for ur forgiveness (note that forgiveness is not asked to God its asked to the living organisms)

theres more ofcoz but not for now....
